QUESTIONS

DO YOU ACCEPT INSURANCE?

The National Center for Suicide Survivors does not accept insurance. We accept debit, credit, and HSA cards.

do you have a payment plan option?

The National Center for Suicide Survivors offers the options of paying for half of the Intensive Suicide Survivor Treatment (ISST) upfront or paying the other half before the second session. Paying in full saves $500.

Another option for those whose credit score is 630 or higher:

We currently offer two scholarships per month at a reduced rate of $2500. We believe strongly that there must be a personal investment in the treatment to get the most out of it.  Research shows that those that do not pay for treatment value the treatment less and get less out of it.  Scholarships are only offered to those that complete the application, essay and are approved.  Those that we do not have room for will be placed on a waiting list.

If financing is an issue and you are unable to wait, consider asking family, friends, community members, church groups, or other charitable/non-profit organizations.

Should I consider virtual or in-person sessions?

Consider VIRTUAL (via Zoom Meetings) if you live more than an hour away from our office (330 King St Suite 5 Wenatchee, WA 98801). If you have health concerns increasing your risk for COVID-19, consider VIRTUAL sessions. To utilize VIRTUAL SESSIONS, you need to have a safe place in a room alone where you will not have ANY interruptions for 90-minutes per session. Ensure that you have a strong enough internet signal to support video and preferably with a device larger than a phone. Lastly, bring the same growth mindset that you would bring to an in-person session.

Consider INPERSON if you live close to 330 King St Suite 5 Wenatchee, WA 98801.

Attempted Suicide Short Intervention Program (ASSIP) research was conducted in-person with an 80% reduction in repeat suicide. However, Blake Suzelis is completing a study to understand how the general effectiveness of virtual ASSIP.  We do not believe there will be a difference in the rate of efficacy; however, it is possible there will be.

How frequent are the virtual or in-person sessions?

Research has shown that weekly sessions work best; therefore, sessions are scheduled accordingly. However, sessions can be scheduled differently if necessary. We generally won't go more than 2 weeks between sessions.  If this is a problem, consider rescheduling whatever may be interfering for 5 weeks to focus on your wellness.

What happens if I miss a session?

The National Center for Suicide Survivors attempts to do the best they can to accommodate scheduling the five virtual or in-person sessions in advance. We understand that unforeseen circumstances happen, however, we expect that clients prioritize these five sessions ahead of time. Due to the nature of our program and schedule, it is unlikely that a canceled appointment can be filled last minute. We will determine situations individually to decide if the client is responsible for the cost.  All appointments are scheduled and paid ahead of time when you sign up for the intensive program.  You are allowed one missed appointment due to an emergency only.  Anything other than an emergency will result in an additional charge of $500 for the rescheduled appointment.   Once you sign up and start our program there are no refunds.  We want you to be successful!  To get the most  benefits from our intensive program you must show up to ALL appointments.  We know things arise, but your life depends on you showing up and working your program.  No exceptions will be made.  Please contact the office as soon as a situation arises.

can my therapist join my sessions?

The National Center for Suicide Survivors recognizes the importance of your therapist's involvement in your success and this cannot be understated. We will answer direct questions from your therapist and they will receive a copy of your safety plan; however, under normal conditions, we do not allow your therapist or anyone else to join the sessions.

What is the refund policy?

If you determine after the first session that this program is not suitable to meet your needs, you will be charged $1000 for the first session and refunded all additional funds that had been paid within 5-7 business days.
